Funny crappy music review

Seven Days, our local alternative free weekly, is a pretty good paper. However, I'm not a big fan of their music reviewer, Casey Rea. Although he's a great writer, he has a tendency to find genius in just about every alterna-pop post-grunge piece of crap that seems to set foot in Burlington, as if this stuff isn't the same old angst-ridden poseur crap we've been hearing for the last 13 years or so. But his crap-ometer definitely gets it right every now and then, often with pretty funny results. Like in this review of local Barre band, 'Cellblock One':

With its scraggly mix of dude-rock clichés and undercooked production, the record sounds seriously dated. It’s hard for me to imagine this stuff taking off beyond North Country barrooms, but, hey, it’s an unpredictable world...The band gets quasi-political with “Revolution,” or, as vocalist Matt Coles pronounces it, “rav-o-loo-shaw-un.” Ever hear South Park co-creator Trey Parker poke fun at macho metal? Well, I don’t think this is satire.
