After my next piece on Sam Harris later this week, I'm going to shift gears away from the 'atheist thing' for a while. I feel it's time to turn to some more lighthearted fare on here, or at least some Bush-bashing (hardly a challenge nowadays) lest this turn into an 'atheist blog', which was never my intent to begin with. Between last week's debate with Charity and the Sam Harris stuff, I'm getting kind of burnt out on the whole subject.
There's a good little back and forth over at Smirking Chimp between rude atheist (I say that with affection) Cenk Uygur and critic RJ Eskow. Eskow's been taking on what he calls 'fundamentalist atheism' quite often lately. I don't necessarily agree with him on some points, but he's a good writer, nonetheless. It's a good read.

I know what you mean. I told you before that it gets old pretty quickly. I don't understand all these people who live for this stuff. I could never debate religion full-time.
I did finally start feeling better enough to respond to John and Rebecca.
