Wanted to share with you another amazing fretless bassist... Michael Manring, undoubtedly one of the most original voices on the instrument today. He is one of the main studio bassists for the New Age record label, Windham Hill, but his solo efforts of the past ten years are nothing remotely new age. Here he is playing Jaco Pastorius' 'Teen Town'. He's really good at using a loop sampler, as you can see how he does it to back himself up. It's quite amazing. Enjoy.
